Aquariums are one of my favorite attractions, combining so much information and awe-inspiring beauty into one place. Have you ever stood in front of one of the huge tanks and wished that you could walk around inside? Well, it turns out there’s a place in Florida where you can do just that.
Welcome to the Miami Seaquarium, the premier marine life attraction in South Florida, offering many educational and entertaining exhibits, shows, and experiences for both children and adults.
There is so much to do in this 38-acre park that you can easily spend an entire day here, but we wanted to focus on a very special and unique experience offered at the Miami Seaquarium.
This experience is the Sea Trek Reef Encounter. It has been named one of the best underwater attractions in the country by multiple news outlets, including CNN Travel and USA Today.
Visitors use a special state-of-the-art helmet that allows them to breathe while walking underwater inside of the 300,000-gallon tropical reef enclosure.
Here, you will get up close and personal with tropical fish, eels, stingrays, and other sea creatures.
The trek lasts for 20 minutes, and you don't need any special certification or diving experience to participate.
Here’s a video that will give you a better idea of what to expect during the Miami Seaquarium’s Sea Trek Reef Encounter:
