For those visitors who love a good haunted hotel, we have the perfect place to lay your head for the night. Casablanca Inn on the Bay in Florida is a beautiful historic hotel dating back to the early 1900s, but what many visitors don’t know is the haunted history behind the hotel. Take a look…
The Casablanca Inn on the Bay in Florida is a historic hotel that was built in 1914 and since has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
This Mediterranean Revival-style inn was originally known as the Matanzas Hotels and the Bayfront Boarding House but has changed its name over the years.
Throughout the century that it has been standing, this inn has been the home to many travelers, smugglers, and bootleggers, which is why it holds a unique haunted history.
At the center of these hauntings is a lonely female ghost who was said to be the innkeeper, who fell in love with one of the smugglers who found solace at the hotel.
The smuggler ended up dying at sea, and ever since, guests and anglers have said they’ve seen a disembodied lantern floating in the air, looking for her long lost love.
Many visitors have also claimed to have heard children playing in different rooms while none were staying at the inn, or even felt someone touching their shoulder, despite being alone in the room.
