This past weekend, we got our first snow throughout much of Delaware, and it really helped get everyone into the holiday spirit. If you can’t get enough of sparkling holiday lights, cold and fluffy snow, and the happiness that surrounds the holiday season, check out these 9 places where you’ll walk into a true winter wonderland in Delaware.
1. Yuletide at Winterthur
Yuletide at Winterthur is the old fashioned Christmas display that people flock to see! There are over 150 rooms all decked out in holiday cheer, with dozens of trees and thousands of lights. See how Christmas was celebrated throughout the years as each section of the mansion displays a different decade.

2. Hockessin
Holiday shopping in Hockessin is already a tradition for many Delawareans, and while you're out and about, be sure to keep an eye out for the Holiday Lights Express. Though the charming, tiny Doodlebug car is not the one carrying the lights this year, you'll see the Wilmington and Western Railroad's holiday car from a mile away! Over 7,000 lights have been strung by the dedicated staff at W&W, and if you can't get tickets to ride on the car, you can still park by the tracks and watch the train go by.

3. Lewes' Winter Wonderfest
Drive through 1.5 miles of light displays - over 90 displays in total - and see Cape Henlopen State Park all dressed up for the holidays. Visit the Christmas Village afterwards and warm up with a cup of hot cocoa.

4. The Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk
Rehoboth Beach's boardwalk is where Santa vacations - his house is right next to the beach! Visit to drop off a letter to the man himself, and check out the enormous Christmas tree at the bandstand, too.
5. Penny Lane
Penny Lane, also in Rehoboth Beach, is an outdoor mall that becomes a winter wonderland in Delaware every single year. The shopkeepers go all-out in their classy decor, and the row of shops is the best place to look for unique Christmas gifts, too.
6. The Apple Electric Light Show
Don't leave Rehoboth Beach without seeing the Apple Electric Light Show! Apple Electric hosts their enormous light show every night, and asks that visitors bring an unwrapped toy that they can distribute to local children. Each toy is hand delivered by Apple Electric to Toys for Tots, so you can enjoy a winter wonderland in Delaware and also help your community. The show runs until 11 PM each night.

7. Trap Pond State Park
There's no better place for winter camping than the magical park at Trap Pond. The well-maintained trails and discount winter rates help make this the best getaway you'll take all year. 33587 Baldcypress Lane, Laurel, DE 19956
8. Downtown Milford
Though the Holiday Stroll has come and gone, Milford is still one of the best Christmas towns in Delaware. Enjoy the stunning lights up and down Main Street, and the window displays that each merchant takes pride in. The town's festive reputation has grown each year, and 2017 is guaranteed to be even more magical.
9. Smith's Lights at the Top of the Hill
Many Delawareans grow up believeing that Santa himself lives at this bright house at the top of the hill in Wilmington. Though he is busy during the holiday season, Santa has been known to come home every night around 6:00 to meet those who've gathered to see this impressive display.
