Fall is well underway, and we’re greatly enjoying the changing leaves, apple and pumpkin picking, and crisp fall air. But soon enough we’ll all be putting the fall decorations away and getting ready to welcome winter — breaking out the cold weather gear and putting up holiday lights. And what kind of winter will we be welcoming, exactly? The Farmers’ Almanac has some ideas. Since 1818, the Farmers’ Almanac has offered an extended weather forecast using its own time-tested weather formula, so we can be prepared for whatever comes our way. And this year the winter predictions for Delaware are, well…wet! Let’s check out the 2023-2024 winter predictions for the First State.
Winter will be on its way before you know it, and the Farmers' Almanac has predicted that Delaware's 2023-2024 winter will be "frosty, flakey, and slushy."
We'll all be feeling the effects of El Niño across the United States, which will bring not only cold temperatures but also snow, sleet, and ice. Delaware should see lots of wintry precipitation this year.
The second week of January is expected to be stormy, snowy, and wet -- a great time to stay indoors in comfortable clothes with a hot beverage of your choice, if at all possible.
During the second week of February, as Valentine's Day approaches, we're predicted to face a big storm, bringing with it snowfall, cold rain, and frigid temperatures.
And we're not out of the woods yet in March. During the first week of March, we'll see another big East Coast storm. A "wintry mess" is expected to befall Delawareans. March may go out like a lion this year too, with wildly varying temperatures and potential stormy conditions.
What do you think about the 2023-2024 winter predictions for Delaware? Are you prepared for a wet and snowy winter? Visit the Farmers’ Almanac for more extended forecasts. And be sure to check out these 11 fun things to do in Delaware in December!
