With a lot of small towns and a lot of state pride, Delaware is home to a ton of small businesses, restaurants, attractions and parks that are seriously underrated. Heading slightly off the beaten path to explore these incredible places will be a decision that you won’t ever regret.
Please note, the Hagley Museum and Library, Nemours Mansion and Gardens, and the Mount Cuba Center are temporarily closed.
This charming fishing town is one of the least-crowded summer beach destinations and, in my opinion, one of the most underrated in Delaware. Read more about what makes Bowers Beach so amazing here.
Malin's Deli is a local favorite and makes some of the best subs in the state. They've also got a variety of snacks and treats, an amazing Jim-Bob sandwich, and homemade dog biscuits for your best pal.

Why go all the way in to Philly or over to Cape May when you can spend a day at the Zoo right in Delaware? The Brandywine Zoo is open 10-4 every day.

This charming town on the Mispillion river is often overlooked for bigger, busier Delaware towns, but there are few things I enjoy more than a stroll through downtown Milford. Particularly this time of year, when the shops and storefronts are decorated for the holidays.
