If you’re looking for an easy Delaware hike that everyone in your family will love, head down to the charming town of Laurel. Here, you’ll find Trap Pond State Park – one of the most enchanting spots in the whole state.
Trap Pond State Park is one of Delaware's geologic wonders, and a hike around the park is sure to be a great day out in nature.
The 5-mile loop trail takes you through the forest and Baldcypress swamp. You'll be able to explore several side trails and catch beautiful glimpses of the pond itself.
Trap Pond is actually home to the northernmost Baldcypress forest in the country! It's truly a unique sight to see them growing straight out of the water.
Paddlers love taking to the water on the park’s two water trails – so be sure to check them out if you love to kayak or canoe. Trap Pond State Park is also home to a nature center that hosts events all year long. For more information, visit their website, here.
