Delaware is a great state for foodies, and our big, downstate Amish markets often get all of the attention for the variety of food they bring to the table. One market, however, is often overlooked by those who seek out the large farmers’ markets, and if you pass by The Well without stopping, you’re robbing yourself of the ultimate foodie experience!
The Well in Hockessin Delaware is an old barn turned into foodie paradise.
It got its start as a coffeeshop with a mission to do good in the world, raising money for charity through the Well's parent organization, Trinity Church. The coffee they brew and the breakfasts they make have made The Well a favorite breakfast spot for tons of people.
Of course, you can eat here, too! Grab some Black and Blue fries, or pig out on that BBQ in one of their comfortable chairs in the spacious dining room.
Find the Well at 6949 Lancaster Pike
Hockessin, Delaware. It gets packed, so be prepared to wait for a parking spot, or a table - but you will really enjoy tasting all of the different foods the vendors, smokers and bakers have to share. Plus, the proceeds all go to very worthy causes.
Grief and counseling centers, teen recovery programs, international missions, local food security charities and more benefit from your purchases. For a full list of the supported charities and missions, click here.
It’s always great to support a good cause by shopping at the Well, and I really do suggest trying Big D’s BBQ – there’s a reason that it was named one of the best BBQ restaurants in Delaware! Yum – I can’t wait to visit.
