Winterthur, the majestic DuPont estate in Northern Delaware, looks like something out of a fairy tale. It’s no wonder, then, that for years children have fallen in love with the whimsical gardens and seemingly endless trails throughout the 1,000 acre property. The DuPont children themselves used to play in these woods, and legend has it that faeries live beneath the enormous oak trees, and they built the Enchanted Woods of Winterthur so that children would forever enjoy their home.
One of the most impressive parts of the three acres of Enchanted Woods is the Fairy Cottage.
The woods are alive with visitors and fairy activity throughout the whole year, and each season brings new reasons to enjoy the Enchanted Woods of Winterthur.
