It’s summer in Delaware, and that means one thing – the State Fair is around the corner! The best week of the year is quickly approaching, and if you’ve never been to the State Fair, can you really consider yourself a Delawarean?
The State Fair has been a Harrington, Delaware Tradition since 1919!

This old fashioned state fair is one of the best in the country and it blends tradition, like the nightly parade, with modern games and fun.
Many Delaware kids are in their local FFA, and the State Fair is the highlight of their year, where they show off their hard work in the livestock arena.
There are contests for everything that talented Delawareans may bring to the table! From photography to pie-making, you'll find the best of the best right here every night.
Ice cream, sno cones, pizza, funnel cake, butterfly fries, and fried Oreos are just a few of the guilty pleasure fair foods you'll be able to feast on all week.
Like any good carnival, you can also find dozens of thrilling rides and plenty of carnival games where you can work on winning a giant stuffed bear for the love of your life.
Whether you love the rides, the food, the live entertaiment, or the celebration of Delaware's agricultural history, you're sure to have a grand time at the Delaware State Fair!
This year, the fair runs from July 19 – 28, 2018. As always, the Delaware State Fair is located at the Harrington Fairgrounds, 18500 S Dupont Hwy., Harrington, DE 19952. Live performances and the demolition derby require tickets, which you can purchase here.
