Delaware is a great state for foodies to explore! You’re never too far from a great restaurant, and plenty of our favorite dining rooms and watering holes have been around for generations. One of Delaware’s oldest restaurants, Stanley’s Tavern, deserves a closer look.
When anyone starts talking about restaurants in Wilmington, it's only a matter of time before someone brings up Stanley's. This northern Delaware bar has practically been around forever, and it's truly a local legend.
Stanley's Tavern has been making their food from scratch and to-order for generations, which is part of what makes this Wilmington establishment a neighborhood favorite.
The tavern has been around since the 1930s, and it's a longstanding watering hole for friends and family to gather. This photo shows the familiar bar all the way back in 1947!
Don't worry, though - even though the restaurant has a new look, there's still always a seat at the bar for anyone looking to enjoy a drink, some food, and great company.
Stanley's is consistently mentioned in any conversation about the best wings in Delaware. They're saucy, crispy, and meaty - a perfect and classic bar bite!
