Delaware’s crab season is kicking off this spring, and those of us who have been waiting all winter for fresh catch are counting down! There are bushels of crab shacks worth visiting throughout the state, but if you’re a true aficionado, chances are Sambo’s in Leipsic is high on your list.
This legendary crab shack, Sambo's, is scheduled to open as early as April 3, 2019.
Inside you'll find a classic crab shack environment, with newspaper lined tabletops and pitchers of beer everywhere you look. You'll get carded at the door, because this restaurant and bar is 21+ only.
One thing you'll be sure to notice is that the crabs are almost unbelievably fresh. Look out back to find out why! The boats come in with crabs several times a day.
You can find Sambo’s at 283 Front St, Leipsic, DE 19901. They’re scheduled to open for the season on April 3, 2019, but be sure to call ahead at (302) 674-9724 or check their Facebook before making the drive.
