Delaware’s a small state, and while nothing is really in the “middle of nowhere”, the closest we can come is Laurel, a remote town in Delaware that’s surrounded by natural beauty and features some of the best dining in southwestern Delaware. Laurel is one of the oldest towns in Delaware, having originally been settled by Native Americans.

By the 1790s, most of the Native Americans had moved from the town to Pennsylvania, and the present town was laid out along Broad Creek.
Since the early days, Laurel has been home to important Delaware figureheads.

Four different Governors of Delaware have come from this little town, along with a handful of NFL players and two professional wrestlers.
Laurel's top attraction is Trap Pond State Park.
