Last year, Coastal Living announced to the rest of the country what Delawareans already knew – that Rehoboth Beach is one of the happiest Seaside towns in the nation. What makes our little town – known as the Nation’s Summer Capital – so incredible? If you grew up visiting these sandy shores, you know that’s not a one-word answer. Check out what makes Rehoboth the Best City in America, and why it continues to capture the hearts of everyone who visits.
The town's Bandstand is one of the most recognized landmarks in Delaware.
Live music fills the air most summer nights, and nearly every one of Rehoboth Beach's many festivals kicks off at the Bandstand! People have been making memories here since the original Bandstand was constructed in 1963.
The beach is breathtaking - and consistently named one of the cleanest in the country.
Rehoboth Beach has been named a 5-Star Beach for water quality year after year, meaning it's one of the cleanest beaches in America. Relax on the soft sand and enjoy the sound of waves crashing around you and fresh salt air - is there anything better?

The mile-long boardwalk will keep you entertained for hours!
Gus & Gus Place has been serving up hot dogs, fried chicken, and hamburgers for decades, and many people have great memories of the friendly counter service and mouthwatering meals eaten on this Boardwalk. Ibach's By The Sea is a landmark candy shop, and the legendary Dolles Salt Water Taffy really complete the throwback to childhood beach vacations.
Funland is a great little amusement park right in the heart of Rehoboth Beach. A Gravitron, bumper cars, and the stomach-turning Super Flip will please the thrill seekers, while a carosel and kiddie rides make Funland a great place for the entire family to spend the day.
Step off the Boardwalk right into Downtown Rehoboth Beach and stroll the shops for hours. Dozens of boutiques and unique stores line the streets and alleys, while delicious restaurants fill the air with the smell of fresh, gourmet cuisine. There's no limit to the great finds and great food you'll find in this town!
There's so much to do if you venture beyond the Boardwalk and Downtown, too.
If you're a nature lover, you'll enjoy paddling down the canal into the Rehoboth Bay. It's one of the most relaxing and beautiful paddles in the state! Grab your kayak or canoe and hit the water.
If you'd rather stay dry, there's an amazing trail that you've got to take.
The most beautiful hike in Delaware leads you to Rehoboth Beach - from Lewes, through the tidal marsh and around Gordon's Pond, right into the town. It's a long walk, but it's a relaxing bike ride, and fairly flat and easy. Check out more details and a map right here. This is definitely something to add to any Rehoboth Beach Bucket List!
Rehoboth Beach is perfect in every way – from the food, to the shopping, to the beach and boardwalk and the fact that it’s surrounded by natural beauty! I just don’t think it gets any better than this. We are so lucky to have these beautiful beach towns! If, for some reason, you want to explore beyond Rehoboth Beach, spend a night in Dewey – one of the coolest towns in the United States. If you’re looking for a quieter town, check out Bethany Beach, the tiny town with an amazing nature center and festivals year round. Delaware is really full of amazing, endless discoveries.
