Trap Pond is one of the most popular of the Delaware State Parks.
Guests visit all year long to paddle, play, hike, camp and explore! Trap Pond is famous for its rare baldcypress trees, and getting out on the water is the best way to get close to them. The park is located at: 33587 Baldcypress Lane, Laurel, DE 19956.
The pontoon tours at Trap Pond are particularly popular. They are the best way to get familiar with this magnificent natural wonder in Delaware. Tours run Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

The Friday Night tour will show you the beautiful baldcypress trees up close, and you can kick off the weekend with a pond-side bonfire.
Starting at 5:00 PM on Friday nights through the middle of October, you can learn about the unique ecology of the United States' northernmost baldcypress pond. The importance of these trees to the local logging industry will give you an entirely new perspective on the human-environment interaction in southern Delaware. The morning tour begins at 10:00 AM, and your guide will take you to look for otters, beavers, muskrat and more critters that call Trap Pond home. The Grab Bag tour features a new topic every week, starting at 2:00 PM. You'll want to attend them all!
Perhaps the most magical pontoon tour happens in mid-October, when the leaves all begin to change.
"Foliage from Afloat" is offered as the pond winds down their pontoon tour programs. On October 17, 18 and 19th (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday), guests can take an hour long tour beginning at 4:00 PM and spot the best fall foliage in southern Delaware around the pond. These unique tours offer snacks and refreshments to guests as they get one final look at Trap Pond before winter sets in.
