It’s been so cold in Delaware that we’ve all been locked up for weeks! Are you getting a little stir crazy? If you are (like me!), one way to beat the winter blues is to plan ahead of the warm months. Here are a few of the best places to visit in Delaware in 2018, whether you’re a nature lover or prefer to stay indoors.
1. Assawoman Wildlife Area
This quiet, little known spot was once mostly farmland. Now, it's 3,000 acres of preserved wildlife habitat, with walking trails that will show off some incredible views.

2. The Haunted Town of Delaware City
There are two haunted historic hotels in Delaware City — and both are worth visiting if you like to be frightened! The Delaware City hotel holds the state's most haunted restaurant, and Fort Delaware is just across the street. Fort Delaware is known to be one of the most haunted places in the world.

3. The Historic Church and Graveyard at Immanuel on the Green
This incredibly historic church is hiding in plain sight in New Castle. It's a breathtaking work of art and played a very important role in the history of New Castle.

You'll find handcrafted stationary, rare books, unique goods, and more at this charming shop in downtown Lewes. Afterwards, head down the block for lunch at one of Lewes' well known cafes and restaurants.

You can step back to the Industrial Revolution at Hagley, which was the first DuPont home in America. Visit the old mills and see how the family got their start making gunpowder in the first state.
