Dairy Queen has been around as a franchise since 1940, serving up delicious ice cream confections (as well as burgers and fries) ever since. Delaware’s oldest Dairy Queen is in Lewes and it has been open since 1954, just a few steps away from Lewes Beach. For 68 years, this Dairy Queen in Lewes, Delaware has passed through many hands and been renovated several times, yet has remained in this spot since it opened. It is currently owned by the local Diehl family.
