In the heart of Wilmington’s most historic district is Old Swedes Church. This gorgeous church is one of the oldest buildings in the country and its graveyard is hauntingly beautiful.
Not only is Old Swedes Church the oldest in Delaware, but it's the oldest church building still used for worship in America itself.
If you love history, you'll enjoy strolling the paths and observing the names and dates on the grave markers. Many of these people were buried more than a hundred years before America earned independence.
