The New Castle Courthouse was the center of Delaware politics from time it was built in 1732.
Delaware declared independence here - from both Philadelphia and England - and the courthouse was a stop on the Underground Railroad. Now, it's home to one of the best museums in the state.

First State Heritage Park is a collection of sites that celebrate the early history of Delaware. There are interactive exhibits throughout the state, and they host festivals throughout the year. Visit the First State Heritage Park Welcome Center to find more, and keep an eye on their website, right here for the event calendar.

Historic New Castle is as close to a time machine as you'll find anywhere. Visit the Amstel House, stroll the Green, and see how many statues and historic markers you can find. There are dozens!
