Delaware is full of stunning back roads that take you through peaceful, historic landscapes. Delaware’s Department of Transportation has made it one of their missions to preserve their favorite back roads that truly help tell the story of Delaware, from the very beginnings of the state’s existence. One historic drive takes you through Sussex County and shows it off in a way you’ve never envisioned!
Delaware's Nanticoke Heritage Byway is one of the most underrated tours in Delaware.
The Hearns & Rawlins Mill along Bridgeville Highway has had a mill on it since 1820! Over the years it has suffered through destruction by both fire and water and is a fascinating sight today.
Of course, as you wind your way through Seaford, Bethel, Laurel and more Sussex County towns, you'll be greeted with some of the most stunning views of the Nanticoke River. Take the time to enjoy them.
