1. It's all highway.

So many people think that Delaware is not much more than a stretch of I-95 between Philadelphia and Baltimore. This state has SO much to offer in terms of natural beauty!
2. Wilmington is super dangerous

Like any city, there are bad areas, sure. But plenty of Wilmington's neighborhoods are full of fun nightlife, great restaurants, and gorgeous parks.
3. There's nothing to do here.

4. It's hard to find live music.

No way! I'm always so perplexed when I hear that people have to travel to Philly or Baltimore to catch a great show. the Queen in Wilmington hosts amazing acts all year, the Arden Concert Gild brings in national acts, and the Bottle and Cork in Dewey Beach is the best little venue in the area!
5. You can't find good bagels...

This is one of those Delaware myths that used to be true, but now there are mouthwatering bagels throughout the state. My favorite are at Surf Bagel in Lewes, and NDB in Newark.

8. Newark is only a rowdy college town.

9. The Beaches are always too crowded.

If you try to go to Rehoboth Beach during Memorial Day Weekend, you might be stuck in traffic and crowds. But try in September, when it's local summer, or visit any of our hidden Bayshore beaches to have the sand and surf to yourself.
10. All of the restaurants are chains.
