Hidden in the rolling hills of Delaware’s Brandywine Valley lies a secluded, charming restaurant that could be straight out of a Lewis Carroll book! Krazy Kat’s is located in Montchanin, and this quirky bistro is one of the best restaurants in the entire area! It’s hiding a bit of a secret, and fans of felines and French cuisine will be delighted with this fancy find!
Montchanin Village in New Castle County was once a small hamlet built for none other than the DuPonts.
From the wall art to the place settings and the small statues and figurines on every shelf, Krazy Kat's will be a feline fancier's favorite place! You'll feel a little bit like Lewis Carroll's Alice as you take in this wonderland.
After you've taken in all the quirky decor, it's time to eat. Start with a seasonal seafood appetizer, like the Prince Edward Island mussels which are served in a made-from-scratch corn lobster broth.
Vegetarians will appreciate the kicked-up meatless options, like the enormous stuffed peppers or heirloom tomato caprese, featuring house made mozzarella bruleé.
If you decide to dine early in the day, take advantage of the $10 lunch combo. You'll get to enjoy half of a sandwich, a cup of soup, and their delicious hand-cut gaufrette potatoes. It's one of the best lunch deals in the state!
Dinner guests will enjoy a more elaborate menu, with offerings like this smoked pork belly, served with blood orange sweet and sour sauce, wild boar rangoon and a pear slaw.
