Delaware’s a tiny state, but there’s so much to find here within our borders! The very first Kaiserschmarrn cafe in the country is located at the Delaware beach, and you’ll want to visit and try this Austrian treat as soon as you can!
Kaisy's Delights is a new Rehoboth Beach and Lewes icon, and their popular cafes in each town are always swarming with guests.
Kaiserschmarrn is an Austrian dessert. Here at the cafe, they call it a kaisy for short. It's sort of a delicious cross between a pancake, french toast, and another pastry. Kaisies are caramelized and includes raisins, and they're light and fluffy. It's served in small pieces and traditionally with jam, powdered sugar, or marmalade.
Most visitors choose to try their Kaisy in a cup, topped with homemade chocolate sauce or marmalade, and a few other delicious, fresh toppings.
Rumor has it they make the best Americano at the beach, so go on in and try it for yourself!
Both Kaisy’s Delights locations are open Sunday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. This charming cafe is the only place where you can find kaiserschmarrn in Delaware, but be warned, it’s completely addictive.
