Delaware’s springtime and summertime festivals are some of the best events in the First State! Every year, summer kicks off in Milton for nature lovers and artists at the Shorebird and Horseshoe Crab Festival that takes place at Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge and downtown Milton. Mark your calendars for this year’s festival, happening on May 23, 2020!
Every year, more than 1,500 Delawareans come to celebrate our unique coastal ecosystems at the Milton Shorebird and Horseshoe Crab Festival.
The festival is a joint effort from Milton Chamber of Commerce, Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge and Milton Historical Society. Local sponsors like Dogfish Head help make this festival one of the best of the year.
Vendors from all of the Delmarva Peninsula gather to showcase their coastal artwork, homemade goods, decor, spa products, and tasty handcrafted treats.
Along with the vendors, there are family friendly activities for everyone to enjoy. Take a canoe trip or boat ride on the river, participate in kids' scavenger hunts, and more.
There's an art show in town, too! You'll be able to see the most inspiring coastal artwork as nature lovers gather to celebrate the natural beauty of the ocean and bay.
There's more to see beyond the city limits. Head to Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge to see the horseshoe crabs, shorebirds, and others seaside wildlife for yourself.
