Any Delaware historian could tell you about the importance of the railroad. Towns like Odessa, Middletown, and Delmar have all had their history changed by the tracks that were laid down near their towns. It’s no wonder that people have been working hard to preserve the history of trains in the First State, and riding the one historic railroad in Delaware will take you on a trip back in time.
The Wilmington and Western Railroad leaves from their Greenbank Station and travels on tracks are are preserved for historic use only. A ride on this trail, whether it’s a holiday trip or just a weekend excursion, will truly be an experience you won’t soon forget. You can learn more about the historic railroad on their website, here.
