Rehoboth Beach is Delaware’s most popular beach town, and every summer hundreds of thousands of tourists walk the boardwalk, stroll the sand, and stuff their faces with legendary Delaware food. The Boardwalk’s classic burger stand, Gus and Gus Place is just as much a part of the Rehoboth Beach scene as Dolles, Thrashers, and Funland, and no summer would be complete without a visit to the place that’s made fried boardwalk food a staple in every beachgoer’s diet.
Strolling the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk is like walking down memory lane.
With Dolles, the Bandstand, Thrashers and the sound of the sea overwhelming your senses, it's hard not to be taken back in time to when you were a child and the sights were all new. As you approach Wilmington Avenue, your nose will pick up perhaps the most iconic of Rehoboth Beach establishments.
Gus and Gus Place, on the corner of Wilmington & the Boardwalk, is a Rehoboth Beach landmark.
It's worth the wait - especially for the fried chicken or corndogs. Everything is made to order, and by the time your food gets to you, the smells of the classic burger joint will have your mouth watering.

This photo of the burger stand is from 1966 - you can see that not much has changed.
Kids still run up to the window to order their lunches or a soda, and the helpful counter staff still keeps orders straight and food coming hot off of the grill.
There's something to be said about the family dedication to their business, as they've been working behind a hot grill for decades now and always seem to have smiles on their faces.
If you'd rather not eat on the sand, you can enjoy the cozy dining room.
Vintage booths line the walls, or grab a table for your party. Gus and Gus is a popular spot for kid's sports teams to come celebrate after a victory, or even just after practice
If you want fried chicken, head to the back, where it will be freshly made just for you.
Gus and Gus Place hasn't been dominating the boardwalk food game for 60+ years based on luck alone! There's a reason that this establishment is so strongly rooted into the Rehoboth Beach community. Grab a bite to eat, support a local family, and become a part of Delaware Beach history every time you enjoy a meal from Gus and Gus Place.
Gus & Gus’ is at 15 S. Boardwalk. Follow your nose east on Wilmington Avenue until you reach the boardwalk and the line that stretches across it. If you just can’t wait til summer to grab one of the best burgers in Delaware, you might want to start to check off some of the other delicious burgers on our Burger Bucket List now.
