This is the spookiest time of year – not only is Halloween approaching, but cool fall air and the days getting shorter just feels creepy! If you’re into all things paranormal and weird, you’ll be happy to hear that Delaware has a ton of creepy, spooky places for you to check out if you really want to see a ghost.
1. The Addy Sea Inn, Bethany Beach
The haunted Addy Sea Inn is my favorite place to look for ghosts in Delaware! You can stay overnight here - if you dare - but you might hear unexplained noises or see orbs in your photos. 99 Ocean View Pkwy, Bethany Beach, DE 19930
2. Blevin's House, Smyrna
Blevin's House has been an urban legend in Smyrna for decades. Currently home to the Blevin Family business, if you're walking down the street, sometimes you'll feel an unearthly presence. 139 North Main Street Smyrna, DE
3. Smyrna Museum
The Smyrna Musuem embraces its haunted history - it was once a Civil War recuitment office! You can find out about the hauntings or any ghost tours they may offer in the Fall by calling. 11 S Main St, Smyrna, DE 19977
4. Maggie's Bridge, Seaford
Maggie's Bridge in Seaford is on Route 78. Legend has it that a pregnant woman named Maggie perished in a car accident here, and if you call out to her that you have her baby, she appears to seek closure that she never got.
5. Crabby Dick's, Delaware City
The old Delaware City Hotel is now Crabby Dicks, and if you visit enough, you'll be sure to find orbs in your pictures or see something happen that's not quite explainable.
30 Clinton St, Delaware City, DE 19706
6. Bellevue State Park, Wilmington
Bellevue Hall in Bellevue State Park is so haunted that two of the floors are closed to guests! Keep an eye out around the mansion, though, because you never know what you'll see. 720 Carr Rd, Wilmington, DE 19809
7. Lums Pond State Park
Screams from the woods, darting shadows and more paranormal activity are the remnants of one of the most gruesome ghosts in Delaware - the ghost of a girl who was murdered at Lums Pond in the 1860s.
1068 Howell School Rd, Bear, DE 19701
8. Fort Delaware State Park, Delaware City
Fort Delaware State Park is one of the most haunted places in the world. You can tour the Prison with ghost hunters in October, or walk around by yourself on a regular, self-guided tour - if you dare.
45 Clinton St, Delaware City, DE 19706
