Despite Delaware’s reputation for being a small, sparsely populated and boring state, there are so many cool things to do and explore here. Whether it be climbing to the top of the world, learning about history, or appreciating modern art, there’s no question in my mind that Delaware is a state full of impressive and interesting culture. What’s even greater, though, is how many experiences you can have in Delaware without breaking the bank – actually, without even spending one dime. Take a look at this expansive list of free things to do in Delaware, and plan your next adventure while sticking to your budget.

Dogfish Head Beer is one of Delaware's most famous exports, and the brewery tour itself was named one of the top 10 tours in America by USA Today. Stop by and see what all the hype is about - the tour itself is totally free.

New Castle is always buzzing with free events, street fairs, and festivals during the winter months around the holidays, but the one you must NOT miss is the "Spirit of Christmas" - one of the best free things to do in Delaware. Geocaching is one of my favorite free things to do in Delaware. If you've never heard of it, it's basically a big, state-wide treasure hunt. All you need to particpate is a GPS or a smartphone.
Even in Fall, the stunning regional loop bike trail between Lewes and Rehoboth Beach is an amazing ride.
