There are many breweries in Delaware – from the famous Dogfish Head to the lesser known (but still amazing) Crooked Hammock. But… did you know there’s a brewery dedicated to root beer? Fordham and Dominion brewery was established in Dover in 2007 – and along with delicious IPAs, Stouts and lagers, they make the only micro-brew soda in the state. Their root beer is revered by anyone who has tried it – it might be the best soda you’ll ever taste.

Dover, Delaware 19901. Blink, and you'll miss it! They're open for $5 tours on Saturdays from Noon-4 PM.
Fordham and Dominion is a microbrewery with a bit of a twist.
It was originally added to the brewing linenup because the owner wanted to make a product for children, too - and it became so popular that Ginger Ale, Orange Soda, and Black Cherry were added to the lineup.
The Brew is made with original American recipes found at the Library of Congress. Instead of high fructose corn syrup, they make their root beer with honey. You can really taste the sassafrass, too! This is how root beer is supposed to taste - and pair it with some ice cream and you'll forget every other root beer float you've had before.
The best way to try Dominion Root Beer is to visit the brewery and take a tour.
Each $5 tour, held on Saturdays from 12:00-:400, comes with 4 complimentary samples and a souvenir pint class. This is a fun brewery tour that even children can attend, because they can try all four of the Dominion Sodas.
However, if you can't make it down to Dover, be sure to look for Dominion sodas in your local Giant, Costco, or even at Fifer Orchards.
The best soda in the First State is becoming easier to find! Costco, GIant, and Fifer Orchards in Wyoming, DE all carry the four flavors.
