Delaware is full of iconic restaurants. From The Buttery in Lewes to Cantwell’s Tavern in Odessa, you’ll find tasty eateries all over. There are a few that really define the Delaware dining experience, though, and one of these classics is right in New Castle.
There's one enormous sign on the side of Route 13, just north of the airport, that's a true Delaware landmark.
The menu is pretty simple, and you can find it printed on the side of the napkin dispensers. A handful of hot dog options, cheesesteaks, and a few other sandwiches make this a straightforward experience.
You’ll find The Dog House at 1200 N Dupont Hwy., New Castle, DE 19720. This roadside landmark is open from 10:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Sundays.
