The 7 Best Places To Hide In Delaware In The Event Of A Zombie Apocalypse

The WVUD Studios would be my top choice for a Delaware Zombie Apocalypse hideout for a whole slew of reasons. Primarily, it's hard enough to navigate Perkins Hall's regular classrooms, but finding the Radio Station in the basement is a challenge for even a seasoned UD student, professor, or alumni. There's no way Zombies would be able to locate it quickly, or access it easily. Of course, being connected to the outside world via the antennas (which are on top of the Christiana Towers, off-site) would be super helpful in any sort of emergency situation. And most importantly (to me), if I'm going to be hiding from Zombies indefinitely, I'm going to want to listen to some good music. A radio station has everything I'd need - although, someone would have to find a way to tunnel into Pencader for food!

Fort Delaware is the obvious choice - which means it's going to be swarmed. When the fort housed thousands of Civil War prisoners, the grounds were overwhelmed and rations were scarce. That doesn't mean it's not a great place to hide out, away from zombies. Blow the bridges and you're on an island within an island, thanks to the mote that surrounds the heavily fortified prison. Plus, you'll have access to at least some weaponry, should it come to having to fight off zombies at close range.

Winterthur has two things going for it that make it a good Delaware Zombie Apocalypse hiding spot. First, with 175 Rooms and a square footage that makes it the 4th largest house in the United States, it'll be easy to Scooby-Doo your way around the mansion, avoiding Zombies and ducking into doors they don't realize actually open. Another thing that Winterthur offers is perhaps the most peaceful, secluded setting in the state - maybe after a stroll through the enchanted woods, a zombie would realize that eating brains isn't really the right thing to do.

Fort Miles is another obvious choice! With bunkers, observation towers, and plenty of places to hide in Cape Henlopen State Park, you might be able to keep the Zombies away long enough to catch the Cape May - Lewes Ferry over to New Jersey... once you decide which fate you'd prefer.

If you're going to escape some Zombies, you might as well do it in style and commandeer the Kalmar Nyckel. Sure, you could grab a speedboat or a charter from Fisherman's Wharf, but where's the fun in that? Grab a crew of experienced sailors, though, because these booms and sails won't work themselves! If the zombies somehow get on board, you can toss yourself into the sea on one of the Kalmar Nyckel's lifeboats, so that gives you at least one more shot at survival.

The Grand Opera House is the spot to go if you're stuck in the city and can't quite make any of the more ideal, remote locations. This historic building has lived through a lot, and it's massive, with lots of little hallways and vestibules for hiding. It's also got the whole beautiful, artistic, historic appeal that Winterthur has, in case your zombies have retained some of their human qualities.

If you have enough lead time, Massey's Landing might be the best place to go to escape the Delaware Zombie Apocalypse! It would be easy to block off the entrances to the secluded luxury resort, if the Zombies ever found the place to begin with. Located way off the beaten path, you might be isolated enough that you won't even have to fight for your own brains. And hey, if that's the case, enjoy one of their deluxe waterfront cabins and consider it a vacation!
