For road-weary travelers, there’s no sight more welcome than that little green sign along the Interstate that announces an upcoming rest stop. Here’s a rest stop that’s far from ordinary, and the next time you pass you might want to take a break here.
When you've been traveling outside the state, and you're finally headed back home, there's no more sign you'd rather see than this one. Ahh... feels good to be back, doesn't it?
If you've been in the car for very long, you're probably dying to stretch your legs, and you might be ready for a snack. You'll find the best rest stop in all of Delaware right along I-95, at 530 John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway, Newark.
Most rest areas offer dim-lit little buildings, sketchy restrooms, and one or two picnic tables. The Delaware Welcome Center takes everything you thought you knew about rest stops and turns it on its head.
Tired travelers will also be happy to see a Starbucks, where they can get a big serving of caffeine. An espresso or latte and a pastry sound wonderful, don't they?
