The Epic Outdoor Food Fest In Delaware You Simply Cannot Miss

Every year, the Delaware State Fair brings thousands of Delawareans together to celebrate our great state. While the rides and events are a huge draw, and the concerts really make the fair complete, let’s be real – the State Fair in Harrington is all about the food! This year, the Delaware State Fair runs from July 20th – July 29th, 2017 at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington (18500 S Dupont Hwy, Harrington, Delaware).

The Delaware State Fair is known for having some of the best food around!

Elephant Ears and Funnel Cakes are must-haves for any fair-goer.

Deep Fried *everything* has been a big trend for the past few years, with fried oreos, fried twinkies and even fried vegetables joining the classics, like corn dogs, in the fryer.

Your sweet tooth will be thrilled by the Fair selection of desserts, from cinnamon rolls as big as your face...

... to handmade donuts, hot from the oven, of all types and flavors.

The Candy Apple Stand is always a big standout...

And with candy apples like these - how could you pass them up? Do you prefer caramel, or chocolate?

Of course, there's plenty of BBQ to be found. The pulled pork sandwiches here pair perfectly with a fair classic: fresh squeezed lemonade.

Along with all of the crazy concessions, be sure to check out all of the contests during the week. Baked goods are judged against similar types and awarded ribbons if they are the best.

Delaware's strong agriculture industry is on display at the fair as well, with farmers from all over bringing their best produce to be judged.
