Delawareans are known for being huge seafood eaters. After all, we’ve got miles and miles of coastline and a prime spot right on the Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. That being said, it’s easy to track down an amazing Delaware crab shack, if you know where to look.
Since 1953, Sambo's Tavern has been a Leipsic landmark, welcoming in hungry diners to this Delaware seafood shack.
The seafood served here is out of this world, and much of it comes in fresh from the boats that dock along the river. Did you know that Delaware Bay oysters are world renowned?
Once your crabs arrive, get crackin! While there's a whole lot of debate on how to pick or crack crabs, once you figure out your own method, you'll be in crabmeat heaven.
Keep an eye on the tavern’s Facebook page, here, to make sure you know their seasonal hours and crab availability. Sambo’s is typically open March through October.
