Start off with a sunrise at Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refue. There are few places in the state as stunning as this protected national refuge. In the fall, it lights up with the bright yellow, red, and orange colors of the season.

I think Prime Hook is best explored by kayak, but walking and driving through will show you sights you'd never expect to see in Delaware. Foxes, heron, egrets and osprey make their home here. It's quite a sight.

The charming town of Lewes is situated right on the cape that guards the entrance to the Delaware Bay, and the state park here is one of the most interesting places. Explore the historic World War II ruins, or just enjoy strolling along the canal.

The Indian River Inlet Bridge has a dark and haunted history but don't let that stop you from visiting this stunning look out spot. You can even walk across it on a nautical themed walkway.

Fenwick Island is where you'll end your trip, with a gorgeous, breathtaking sunset. Stop in town for dinner, too, some of the most delicious seafood restaurants are in the area.
The Delaware Coastal Road trip is the best way to see our breathtaking shoreline, but if you’re more interested in fall foliage, you’ll want to head out on our Delaware Fall Foliage trip. Or, load up the car and make a weekend out of both!
