Delawareans are carnivores at heart — after all, the state is home to millions and millions of chickens, and they’re not all family pets! When it comes to delicious smoked meats, it’s hard to beat authentic southern Delaware barbecue. One roadside smokehouse has earned a reputation for serving some of the best around. Stop by during their busy season to try their famous platters.
Charlie K's BBQ is a tiny roadside smokehouse in Ocean View and if it weren't for the crowds in front, you might drive right by.
Take a look at their old-fashioned menu board to see what you can order today. As the day goes on, you can expect some of the more popular dishes to sell out.
The hallmark of a good barbecue restaurant is a great brisket. Charlie K's knows how to season and smoke the cut just right, so you end up with tons of flavor in every tender bite.
Call before you make the drive down to see if they are open, as they are a seasonal business and typically serve from May through October. Right now, they’re open every day except Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
