Delaware is a coastal state, and if you grew up here, you grew up with the water being a big part of your life. Even if you spent your summers at Killens Pond or Lums Pond instead of the beach – it’s just in your soul! That’s why it’s so healing and refreshing to spend a day on the water in Delaware. If you’re looking for a good place to go kayaking or paddleboarding, you’ll find that when you kayak Rehoboth Bay, it’s a delightful spot to drop in and float.
The Rehoboth Bay is a huge waterway with calm water and gentle tides, and if you're looking for a day to paddle and float, this is probably the most scenic spot in Delaware.
If you're renting your kayak from Delmarva Board Sport Adventures, they recommend that kids come paddle in the mornings, early afternoons, or on Monday evenings. Their launch point is at a bar, which can get a little rowdy.
While you're in the water, you'll enjoy the breeze coming from the ocean, beautiful scenery, and you'll get to spot a huge variety of shore birds, too!
If you don’t have your own gear or you would like to participate in a program on the bay, visit the Delmarva Board Sport Adventures website and see all of their offerings.
