Delaware is full of cool things to do, despite our reputation for being a “drive-through state” or a “beach vacation only state”. When you’re trying to find a cool place to spend a day, consider Rockford Park, where you can climb Rockford Tower and feel like a part of the First State’s history.
Rockford Tower is an iconic part of Wilmington's landscape, but did you know you can climb right up to the top?
Rockford Park surrounds the tower, and throughout the year it hosts celebrations, like the Wilmington Flower Market and New Castle Ice Cream Festival. The iconic tower watches over Delawareans enjoying one of our Wilmington State Parks.
Occasionally, the tower is open at night for stargazing and astronomy events thanks to Delaware State Parks. You can't beat this unforgettable view of the city and valley.
You can find out more information about climbing Rockford Tower on Sundays, or the New Moon and Full Moon evening programs on the Delaware State Parks website, here.
