Is there anything in this world that’s better than cheese? Cheese is wheely amazing, no matter how you choose eat it. On a sandwich, sprinkled over pasta, with crackers, or by the handful when nobody’s looking… you don’t need anyone’s parmesan to enjoy this delightful dairy treat. Fellow cheese lovers, rejoice, because you can now look forward to the best cheese festival in Delaware returning in 2018. Cheesetoberfest is a celebration of the gouda things in life. I promise, you’ll have a grate time.
Every year, Fordham and Dominion Brewery hosts Delaware's most delicious festival, Cheesetoberfest!
This year, you can catch all the fun on Saturday, September 29, from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Brewery, located at 1284 McD Dr., Dover, DE 19901. You'll want to get your tickets early, because Cheesetoberfest typically sells out.
This cheesy festival is a spin off of German Oktoberfest, which began as a marriage celebration in the 1800s. Today, Oktoberfest is celebrated with beer and Bavarian culture. In Delaware, though, it's celebrated with beer and cheese culture.
Every year, there are a few awards up for grabs. Fordham and Dominion Brewery hosts a competition to determine the best grilled cheese and mac and cheese in the region.
For three years now, the Little Grocer in Dover has topped the Grilled Cheese competition. These aren't your ordinary sandwiches - toppings and cheeses combine to make an unforgettable treat.
The Mac and Cheese variations seem endless, too. Whether you're a purist or like to experiment with your noodle combinations, you'll be delighted at the variety presented here.
Of course, no -toberfest would be complete without beer! Since this event is hosted by Fordham and Dominion, you can rest assured that there are taps and kegs all over the place.
Keep an eye on the Fordham and Dominion website here – tickets go on sale soon! VIP tickets sell out early, and General Admission spots are limited! This is the best cheese festival in Delaware and trust me, you don’t want to miss it.
