As a rule, Delawareans love ice cream. It’s one stereotype about the First State that we all proudly endorse! Dairy is pretty important to us, and just recently, one of the best local creameries around took their dairy game a step further and started making cheese along with their farm-fresh ice cream. Now, thanks to innovative University of Delaware students, you can find delicious cheese curds in Delaware.
For years, Delawareans have flocked to UDairy for ice cream and ice cream sandwiches, but last year, this tiny Delaware creamery picked up a new hobby - Cheesemaking.
Their Delaware Gold cheese is perfect on crackers, fruit or honey on a cheese board, or just as a snack-by-the-slice. In addition to making blocks, though, UDairy also makes the most outrageously tasty cheese curds you'll ever try.
These Delaware cheese curds come in three different flavors - plain cheddar, ranch, or Old Bay - because that's how we do it on Delmarva! These curds are the freshest cheese that you can find, anywhere.
They're made fresh, so you'll really get to enjoy the taste while it's at its best! Finally, you don't have to order from Wisconsin or Vermont dairies to enjoy delicious curds!
Don't worry - UDairy is still working hard to create delicious ice cream flavors, and that's not going to change any time soon. Now, though, it's even more inviting to stop by and pick up an ice cream cone for now, and some cheesy snacks for later.
Whether you're a UD student looking for a snack to take back to your dorm, or just a cheese aficionado that works or lives in Newark, it's hard to top fresh made cheese curds.
Stop in to pick up cheese and ice cream next time you’re in Newark. There are always pints available in a huge variety of available flavors, and plenty of cheese for you to enjoy. You can even order cheese to be shipped to you, online!
