Delawareans already know that the First State is the best place to get up early and enjoy a sunrise. After all, watching the morning star rise above Cape Henlopen or Port Mahon is an incredible way to start the day, and is sure to impress anyone looking for a photo to hang on the wall. What many of us don’t take the time to appreciate, though, is the beauty of the end of the day – when the sun sinks low over the Rehoboth Bay and Indian River Inlet. Catch a sunset in Delaware at the most picturesque place around and you’ll fall in love all over again with your home state.
Delaware's Indian River Inlet is known for being a great place for boaters, photographers, kayakers, and anyone who enjoys spending time around the water.
If you're out on the water, like this Coast Guard vessel, you'll be treated to an unobstructed view of the sun setting on the bay. We can't imagine a more relaxing place to be!
Much of the inlet area is part of Delaware Seashore State Park, and you can find trails like the Burton Island trail that take you to little nooks all around the water.
The famous Indian River Inlet Bridge, which has quite a history behind it, is an impressive man-made wonder that makes this scene look like a postcard.
Make it a point to drive down to the Indian River Inlet in Delaware Seashore State Park to catch a sunset in Delaware that's sure to show you the beauty of Mother Nature.
