Can you walk to the beach from Cape Henlopen State Park?

Another cool feature of Cape Henlopen State Park is their "green initiative" which allows you to borrow bikes to use in the park and on the 3.3-mile biking and walking trails. From the park to the beach is about three miles so it is definitely walkable, however, if you are hauling your gear it might be better to drive or pack up a bike carrier and bike to the beach. Of the beaches in the area (Bethany, Rehoboth, and Dewey) the beach at Cape Henlopen State Park is less busy with better parking options so it is the hidden gem of beaches in the area.

Are dogs allowed on the beach in Cape Henlopen State Park?

Cape Henlopen State Park is a mostly dog-friendly park as long as your dog is on a leash. The camping areas and certain pet-friendly areas of the beach are open for dogs. However, the swimming beach and boardwalk are prohibited to dogs during the summer months, May through September.

Can you rent a beach-front cottage near Cape Henlopen State Park?

Why yes, you can. There are plenty of Delaware Airbnb properties to choose from in the area. Why hike to the beach when you can step out the back door and be right on the beach?
