Cape Henlopen State Park, in Lewes, is one of the most beautiful plots of land in the entire state. Not only does it show you the best of our bay and ocean, as well as one of the largest dunes on the East Coast, but you’ll find all sorts of trails and amenities to make your day trip (or camping trip!) unforgettable. One trail in particular is incredible – it takes you back in time to a decommissioned fort that was once home to soldiers during World War II. The artillery, bunkers, and an observation tower are all available for you to explore on the best trail in Delaware.
