Wilmington is a foodie city, but it gets little attention from travelers blinded by the appeal of Philadelphia or Baltimore. Locals know, though, that some of the best meals in the region can be found in Delaware’s largest city, even if it’s a “small town” compared to some of our neighbors. One of the most underrated restaurants in the city, Cajun Kate’s, is a shining example of an overlooked gem that serves fresh, flavorful food to die for.
Cajun Kate's is the type of restaurant that locals try to keep to themselves, because it's hard to believe that such delicious Cajun dining can be found in such a hole-in-the-wall.
There's truly nothing like a big bowl of gumbo or jambalaya to warm you up on a cold day, or to inspire nostalgia about your last trip to the Big Easy.
... and you can't talk Cajun cuisine without mentioning beignets! The beignets at Cajun Kate's are the perfect treat to try after your meal or bring home for tomorrow morning's breakfast.
