Keep an eye out for migratory birds that make their home along the Delaware Bay. Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, and the endangered Red Knot are known to nest in Delaware.
The town offers some amazing views from the World War II observation tower in Cape Henlopen State Park.

The Breakwater Lighthouse and the Harbor of Refuge have been guiding ships safety in the Lewes harbor since 1892 and 1901, respectively. They provide an incredible backdrop to the many marine scenes that unfold here.
Of course, because Lewes is right on the Atlantic Ocean, the sunrises here are spectacular.

Watching the sun rise over the water from the dunes of the cape is perhaps the most enchanting experience you can have in Delaware.
