This wildlife refuge consists of nearly 3,000 acres that were once farmland, but have been reclaimed by nature.
Most days in the Fall, you won't find many people here. It's the perfect place to plan a quiet walk.

The Assawoman Bay itself separates Ocean City, Maryland from the Mainland, and can be accessed from Fenwick Island.

The Wildlife Area is part of the Little Assawoman Bay, and it's managed by the Delaware Department of Fish and Wildlife. It's the perfect place o drop in a kayak and explore miles of waterway.
The area is a significant wildlife refuge,and you'll often see rare birds and critters while you're there.
