10. Sail the seas on the Kalmar Nyckel.
The Original Kalmar Nyckel was the Mayflower of the DelMarVa region, and one of the original pioneer ships of the New World. Now, you can set sail on a replica, the beautiful museum ship that sets sail from Wilmington and Lewes. Learn about the history of the first Delaware settlements as you cruise along in style.
Maybe “Delaware Adventure” isn’t such an unusual phrase after all. I mean, the first sailors on the Kalmar Nyckel certainly were adventurers, as were those who first kayaked the Delaware Bay, or decided to test the theory of “hot air rises”, to the extreme. Join them and celebrate Delaware’s beauty and all it has to offer with your own Delaware adventure this summer.
