Two hours outside of DC in Dyke, VA, Stone Mountain Vineyards is the most a gorgeous remote winery that you need to visit.
Stone Mountain Vineyards sits high atop Virginia on the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. At 1,700 feet, it is one of the highest vineyards in Virginia.
Stone Mountain has been family owned and operated since it opened in 1998. The owners are warm and welcoming and you’ll feel like a part of the family in no time.
You will drive through some winding gravelly roads to reach the vineyards, but rest assured, it’s worth the drive!
Inside the quiet tasting groom, you can enjoy a glass of wine while listening to a local musician or band play.
But if the weather allows, you will really want to sit outside on their gorgeous observation deck.
Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and surrounding areas while you enjoy a glass of excellently crafted wine.
Visitors are allowed to bring picnic lunches or even friendly dogs to relax on the mountain.
The tasting room is open Friday-Sunday from 11am-5pm and winery and wine cave tours are offered twice a year.
