Make Your Summer Epic With A Visit To This Hidden Washington DC Water Park

DC has no shortage of fun activities but because of our size and location, we don’t have many sprawling amusement parks and water parks. However, hiding right outside of DC, in Alexandria, VA, there is an amazing hidden waterpark that everyone will love playing at this summer.

Great Waves Waterpark is perfect for a full day of summer fun! It’s located at Cameron Run Regional Park, just a short drive away from DC.

Great Waves features everything a good waterpark needs. There are five twisty and winding fun slides where you can speed down the slide into the cool pool below.

There’s also three other waterslides, two open and one covered, that are great for little ones or those looking for a more relaxed ride.

The most popular attraction just might the 17,500 square foot wave pool. You’ll feel just like you’re in the ocean when the waves start splashing over you.

You can swim around the on your own or grab a tube and hang on as you float above the waves!

Little ones will love playing at the beach themed Paradise Play. There are mazes, slides and an a great rock wall that will keep kids entertained all day.

And those of all ages will have fun cooling off on the splash pad!

When you want to relax or catch some sun, there’s a spacious sun deck with lounge chairs. Grab an umbrella for some shade or lay out underneath the sunshine.

When you get hungry, you can grab a slice of pizza or an ice cream cone at Surfside Pizza and Soft Serve or order lunch at the Riptide Cafe.

When you’ve had your fill of water fun, there’s also a batting cage and mini golf just outside of the waterpark.
