While there is so much to love about DC, we have one small complaint. We are not really close to any beach. You could drive an hour or two and get to a few but when you really want some tropical vibes to unwind after a tough day, it’s hard to find here in DC. Until now. Archipelago is the tropical restaurant that we have all been looking for in DC!
Archipelago just opened in spring 2016 at 1201 U Street NW and gives you everything you want in a tiki bar, except for maybe some gorgeous views. But we work with what we have!
Every detail from the colorful lamps to the hula girl lamp and the little umbrellas in your drinks will make you think you have stepped onto an island.
And it wouldn’t be a tropical restaurant without fun tiki drinks, now would it? Archipelago serves up the classic island drinks including a Pina colada, Mai Tai and lots of rum, as well as, canned beers and wines.
For their food menu, Archipelago has a limited but delicious offering. They stick to light bites, burgers and sandwiches. They serve sliders, egg rolls, shrimp po boys and noodles.
So, when will you kick back and relax at Archipelago this summer? And if you love a great themed restaurant, DC has plenty more of them! Visit these 13 best themed restaurants in DC!
