You never have to look very hard to find great dining experiences in Washington DC. They are on every corner. But you know, it can be hard to escape DC some days. And for those days, you need a really unique dining experience that can take you away from it all in a most magical setting. You can escape to the French countryside thirty minutes outside of DC in Great Falls Virginia at this secluded restaurant.
Jacques Brasserie is a charming French themed restaurant in Great Falls, Virginia. It is the smaller, more casual counterpart to the fancy L’Auberge Chez Francois
Francois Haeringer first opened the original L’Auberge Chez Francois in 1954. In 2011, his son Chef Jacques, opened Jacques Brasserie as a tribute to his father and his native Alsace roots.
Jacques’ Brasserie is hidden in the lower level behind the larger L’Auberge. While it may be smaller, it provides delicious meals and an incredible experience as well.
Jacques Brasserie is considered the more casual little sibling of L’Auberge. You can indulge on fantastic French-inspired meals, without the price tag.
An added sweet bonus to Jacques Brasserie is that many of the meals on the menu came from a handwritten notebook of recipes that Francois Haeringer brought to the US when he moved from France.
The menu features fancier traditional French meals such as Beef Short Ribs and Bouillabaisse. You can also enjoy a variety of salads, pizzas, tartes, omelettes and sandwiches during brunch and happy hour.
